ATLAS Live talk: How elementary particles are detected with Prof. Daniela Bortoletto
27 November 2020 | By
Journey into the ATLAS Experiment! On Thursday 26th November, Prof. Daniela Bortoletto gave a live public talk on Youtube describing how particle detectors like ATLAS find elementary particles.
Prof. Daniela Bortoletto is an experimental particle physicist and professor at the University of Oxford. Her research uses powerful accelerators to explore the energy frontier and investigate the most fundamental constituents of the universe. She is a co-discoverer of the Higgs boson and the top quark.
Prof. Bortoletto is currently studying the Higgs boson properties and searching for new physics with the ATLAS detector at the LHC. She also plays an important role in the development of instrumentation for particle detection.
This event is part of a series of ATLAS Live Public Talks held on YouTube. You can watch more in the dedicated YouTube playlist.
